Tikis_ValentinesDinner2015.2With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year I’m anticipating a sell-out crowd. For anyone looking for the perfect evening we’ve put together an unbeatable combination of oceanfront setting, fine cuisine and selected wine pairings plus we have some of the top names in local entertainment dropping by all night to set the mood.

Romantic Oceanfront Table Guaranteed

Our special oceanfront Champagne dinner for two package guarantees you a table along the rail overlooking Waikiki beach. We’ve included a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Champagne, keepsake rose and take home chocolates along with our full prix fixe Valentine’s Day menu.

Although I would never recommend you skimp on Valentine’s Day, at $199 for two this is an astounding value and a guaranteed good time.

Expert Wine Pairings

It’s going to be a wine star studded evening with some help from Australia’s best winery, Penfolds as well as our old friends from New Zealand’s Villa Maria Winery. We’ll be pairing the White Clam Angel Hair Pasta course with the Sauvignon Blanc from Villa Maria that Ollie Powrie introduced us to at our special winemaker dinner last summer.

From Penfolds we are recommending the Shiraz Bin 2 Mourvedre along with our Petite Filet Mignon and Tristan Lobster Tail course. We are also recommending the Tawny Port with our Chocolate Trio. DLynn Proctor, their winemaking ambassador introduced us to the Tawny along with several of their other fine wines at our event in January.

You can include the entire wine flight for just $30 per person.

Fresh Local Ingredients

For our Prix Fixe menu we’ve included a fantastic assortment of fresh local ingredients from around the island. From the North Shore we have Kahuku corn grits, crimini mushrooms from Small Kine Farms in Waimanalo on the windward side and some great fresh feta cheese from Naked Cow Dairy in Waianae on the east side. The fresh clams for our pasta dish are shipped to and rejuvenated on the Big Island by Kona Cold with the help of cold water pumped from more than a mile deep in the ocean off the Kona Coast. The clams are held in the necessary 43˚ pristine deep ocean water. This is superior to holding in coolers until distribution to us and ultimately to you, and supports local business.

We’ll be including a little local Valentine’s Day flare with a heart shaped watermelon salad to start. If you are including the wine pairings we have a glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne to toast the special night and if you book ahead for the oceanfront dinner package we’ll leave the bottle.

An Evening of Music

Local radio personality and popular acoustic folk rock singer-songwriter Johnny Helm takes the sunset hour from 5:00pm followed by contemporary Hawaiian music with Harold Kama Jr. at 7:30. Ellesworth Simeona and Pio take the late shift at 10:30 with contemporary hits, Hawaiian style and your requests.

The price for the entire 4-course prix fixe menu is $49 per person and as always the sunsets and 3-hours of validated parking are free. If you’re looking for a wonderful worry free evening this Valentine’s Day I hope you join us at Tiki’s Grill and Bar.
